Been lurking for a while after I started my first ship build; The Black Pearl.
I seen somewhere here, where someone inserted led's into the cannons. Does anyone know where that post is?
There was a video in the post where he showed the led's inside the cannons and they fired in a random pattern?

I have been working in miniatures for about 2 years. My first project was a 1:12 dollhouse.
I started that project when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
What started as a way to keep my mind busy while going through chemo, has grown into a passion :)

Hello and welcome from another part of NY! I lurked for about 4 months after joining before posting my introduction. There is a great community here with lots of folks to help when needed. Already I feel right at home. :)

Welcome aboard. Hope you are doing well. While I have never put LED's in my models, it sounds like something to try in the future. There are quite a few sites about LED lighting too. And YouTube. Screenshot_20250121-160256_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20250121-155933_Chrome.jpg

Hello and welcome to the forums !
I'm sorry, I don't know of the post you speak of and I did a brief search and was unable to find it. I hope you find it soon!
We would love to see some pictures of your build !

Welcome aboard from Connecticut!

You may want to look at this section of the forums first.

There is also a treasure trove of videos on you tube to explore.

I usually recommend that you usually start on something much less complex. Here in the USA model expo has a shipwright series of 3 more and more complex models that are fun and give you a good foundation for your major project.

There is a pretty steep learning curve with wooden boats. I am a strong believer in starting with something simple first and building up.

Here is a build log of a Black Pearl that the author is installing LEDs

It is a complex build and may cause a lot of frustration as your first attempt,

Ive build a Dory, and a sailing pram before I started my Constitution cross section, I am glad I did.

We are all here to help!

Welcome to the group. I have not worked with LEDs, I prefer “ rice “ lights as they are a warmer white colour compared to the yellowish LED. Battery op or 120v your choice, mine is battery op as you can locate your project anywhere.
A good hobby takes your mind off any situation
Good luck and all the best

Welcome! I've always loved Doll Houses. Saw some beauties in Europe during many travels.

My dear aadolf. Now you are certainly doomed. You have been infected with the modeling disease. You will forever look at the world differently, wondering how to scale down everything you see so it will fit into a diorama. Welcome to the forum.
