Mayflower model ship

Working on the Graupner 1/48 Mayflower model ship
I planked the outside of the hull
Filled the center of the hull with pine to give the balsa some strength and weight
Went off script from the plans
But what the heck

Welcome aboard Anthony! Btw, what will the length of the ship be when completed? I was thinking about buying the Model Shipways Mayflower at 1:76 scale and it should be 22”. At 1:48 she would be longer.

It'll be about 30 inches long
And about 30 inches tall
Its was the biggest Mayflower ship I could find

Awesome Anthony! Just what I’ve been looking for! The Model Shipways one is only 22” long and I guess that’s ok but I was looking around for a slightly bigger model but couldn’t find one. You say what company? Graupner? German? Never heard of them before but I’ll check them out. Right up my alley!

Seems the original Grauper company no longer exists. I’ll try to find a kit on eBay or somewhat and if I can’t it’ll be Model Shipways Mayflower!

There is a few 1/64 Mayflower ship models
Constucto,latina,and matua
Constructo looks pretty good
But all 3 model ships are very good kits
Whatever one looks like the nicest one is up to you
