The assembly of the gun requires that I drill several holes (.75mm) on the carriage to support the gun. The carriage is metallic. I'm looking for a supplier of drill bits of this size capable of drilling through metal.

I recommend that you look into Jimmy's posting for Inspiration & Challenge of La Salamandre continues, Nov. 15 Posting 28 for the manner in which he crafted his own very nice cannon carriages. Rich (PT-2)Maybe it is also an alternative, to replace the carriages with wooden - there are several suppliers with very good products.
On Which ship model are you working?
These drill bits are high precision. They are very brittle however and require to be used in drill press. If your metal carriage is hard metal and you will not be able to supported it in vices strictly horizontal to drilling surface the bits will sure break. Food for thoughts. May be it is better buying wood carriages elsewhere?
