Does anyone know who the manufacturer of this tool is? Or where it's manufactured? Micro Mark offers no response to my many inquiries. This unit has a belt drive from the motor to the drum. I want to get an OEM belt.

see if you can get any labels or abbreviations on the belt. This way you can search online and might be surprised by the results. Also, you may have a manual with all available parts and their numbers.

Have you tried? Tech Support: 908-464-1094, 1 pm – 5 pm ET

Today it is not necessary to buy brand name replacement power transmission belts. I suggest buying this product per link below. This material is cut to length and ends are welded together with heat. Different diameters are also available. Also nothing prevents using a few of them instead of some flat belts. I use this on my Unimat DB lathe. I will explain how to weld ends together if anyone is interested.

the belt for the thickness sander is a bit different in shape and your suggestion simply wouldn't wok

I hope that your search is successful!
How do you like using this drum sander? Does it work well and do a good job?
Thanks.

I found the label on the belt. "3PJ353" I Googled it and found the belt only in VietNam. Mine is on it's last leg. Anyone who can give me a lead in North America I'd appreciate it.

I bought this unit used:
  • The plate was severely gouged by the sanding drum. I was able to flip it over and use the bottom as the top. Ultimately I will have a machine shop weld fill the gouge and mill it flat.
  • I have a devil of a time putting a new sleeve. Tried powders, grease and voodoo. Freezing the drum works the best.
  • I am able to buy drums from Grizzly for about $12 for 3. I found 80 grit is the best and most durable. Higher grit does not produce a better finish on cherry. I only pass thru about 2" slats so I can use three pass lanes over the drum.
  • It only takes off about .01 a pass. Much more trips the internal circuit breaker. I'd like to investigate a more powerful motor. It's a ZYT150 a pretty expensive piece.
  • Once the table is leveled it's accurate.

Well, there is always someone that knows. Contacted Bando this morning. They responded with their p/n and a list of local distributors. Found the part on Amazon for 7 bucks. Thanks!!
This is great news, Bill. Please post the part number or better the Amazon link here, so it will help others. Many of our members use MicrosLux sander.

This was my response from Bondo on the belt. The distributors they listed were in SE South Carolina. I searched the part number on Amazon and found one for 7 bucks and one for 12.
