I'm looking at pg 170 in Goodwin's "English Man of War". Bottom left hand corner it has the formulae for mast length and dia. From 1650 t0 1794 the mast dia. is mast length divided by 3 times 9/10 or 15/16 except for the one I\m interested in, 1773. It says the dia. is mast length x 9/10. It's D=M x 9/10 where all the others are D=M /3 x something. All the others make the mast dia to be about 20-21". 1773 would make it more than 57". Gotta be a misprint right? I'm thinking it should be D=M/3 x 9/10.

Oh, it's a great book by the way. Thanks for the recommendation Uwek :)
