Miss Katherine was first seen about 10 years ago inside a shed covering at Mahone Bay, N.S. Canada. Took several photos and did not see it again until four years ago. She was still there, but now sat out in the open, exposed to the elements. A fella working at the boat yard took my camera aboard the old tugboat to get a series of photos for me. The owner, later told me in an email some details, but a thorough search on Google turned up very little. So, armed with some knowledge of her LOA, Beam, and photos the challenge to create drawings began. The finished result is a 1/2”=1’ RC model with added details which were added along the way.

Really a nice old tug and your model of her. It would be good to see the prototype refurbished. Thanks for posting.

How do you go from a derelict to a model? Measurements? Approximential redesign based on loa, beam and pictures??
I am a newbie to modeling, but can the same be done from a lines drawing? Or a construction drawing?
This is my first post ever here... Is it a planked model?
I mean, you did this from scratch, not from a kit, yes?
It just leaves me flap-gummed, ok?!
