I bought a mitre box and razor saw. I was modding a computer desk and used it to cut molding. The cut seemed to waver a bit, like the mitre box slots were a bit too wide. So what kind of box is best to use with a razor saw? Are there better ones than others? I would think if I am building a model I would need to be pretty accurate. Obviously on Amazon the quality could vary widely.

I have not started building my Dory yet. Just got it a few days ago, getting my hobby desk established this weekend. Got a lot of supplies, It will be nice to have a spot to call my own and work on things.

I had same problems in my first small miter box; the slots were wider than the blade of the saw. I built a new box and used my hand-held miter saw to cut the slots, along with accurately cut slabs of fairly slim wood clamped in place to guide the cuts. I had a small miter gauge to accurately set the 90 dree & 45 degree angles.
When in a pinch, I have used 3" X 5" file cards to accurately draw 90 & 45 degree angles. I hope this helps.
Happy Modeling,
Steven
