Model Expo’s Beautiful Blocks and Now on Sale

Model Expo is having a big Memorial Day sale and a set of their pear wood blocks for the USS Constitution are on sale for 50% off. That’s a significant discount. Does anyone have experience with these blocks? I’m building the Bluejacket version of the Constitution, but I don’t really like the Britannia metal blocks in the kit. So, should I spring for these?

Look at the photos in their websites and compare the blocks from each, then choose what you think looks best. Those from ME are pear or you can choose boxwood, pear or ebony from DDM. There are others that are very nice but not sponsors here. Also consider the smallest and largest sizes you need to be sure the one you want to go with comes within the range you need.
