There is no upcoming postal strike and in my opinion the tariff is a bogusThis note is at the top of their website:
"Due to High Tariffs and Upcoming Postal Strike, we are not shipping to Canada at the moment"
Check out https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/dte-acl/est-cal-eng.html. It appears to be legit. Assuming the model is made in Denmark, the kit cost is $400 US and considering the kit is a toy, I came up with $0 in duty and $71.76CND in taxes for $552 CND value. That was for Ontario, so other provinces may be different.

I'm just the messenger. There is no upcoming postal strike and in my opinion the tariff is a bogus
Even if there are, if I lived in Canada, there are enough top quality choices at Model Ship Dockyard to fill several lifetimes. We too often get hung up with a name like Wasa, Victory etc. and don't seem to thoroughly investigate other choices. I get it though (built two Victories from scratch 40+ years ago) but there are now more choices than ever before. With both kits and thousands of contemporary plans, contracts, logs, etc. there is no shortage of information and things for us to do.I am not aware of any tariffs but who knows these days
Do you have any friends here in the U.S.? Have it delivered there and then make a road-trip. Just thinkin', kinda.Forgive my enthusiasm about the Wasa, but at 398.99 I got very excited
