Hi. As a newbie in rigging I have a a few basic questions which any seasoned modeler knows the answers for. I am on rigging 1:90 scale HMS Victory model. My train of thoughts goes like this. It would be nice to model all sails unfurled. It would allow to show all the running rigging in action. The model though, would become very "crowded" with sails and rigging lines blocking from view most of all other work. Now my questions:
- Is it better to make a model with some or all sails furled?
- Would it be a good idea to omit some running rigging?
- Which rigging to omit?
- Most of Victory kits show no sails at all. In this case what rigging do they omit?
- How the kits with no sails show the rigging which is attached to lower corners (clews) of the sails? Do they omit those?
- Is it a good idea to show a model with no sails?
