This is my 3rd build but my first attempt at a brief build log. (please tell me if I'm in the wrong spot). I purchased the 3 ship combo after advice from members here and I have added the Boston Whitehall tender and the Dory to completed ships area. (I think). Anyway here are some photos of where I'm up to with the Pram. To make the boat more stable on the 'supplied building board' I chocked out under the bow & Stern transom. Boat dimensions have come out OK. Ive just completed 3 in 1 primer prep coat (taubmans)inside and out. I then sanded prep coat and applied first coat of Model Expo warm white to outside of hull. I will resume my build log from here going forward.

Thanks for the support everyone. 1st coat of copper red on inside hull, daggerboard, rudder and mast support. Is it best to buy a small gravity sprayer for better results?. Also my old school mate back in the 1960's had a sabot (pram) that his father built in there shed. I always remember all the sawdust and shavings everywhere. Funny how modelling brings back memories.

By gravity sprayer, I assume you mean a gravity feed airbrush? I consider my airbrush to be an indispensable piece of kit. Whether you get a gravity feed or syphon feed is a matter of personal preference, I think, but syphon feeds are more economical in terms of wasted paint and generally easier to clean.

Just from experience, make sure the dagger board will still slide into the trunk after you paint. I usually use sanding sealer before I paint. It helps seal the grain and makes for smoother painting IMHO.

Now onto the spars, rigging and sails. Some of the photo etched parts missing and instructions had to be read a few times to work out what was going on. I managed to use a few pieces of the leftover photo etched parts surrounds to finish the straps for backstays. The rudder was super fiddly with straps made the same way.

Well guys theres one thing you can be sure of! I'm hopeless at keeping these blogs up. Ive finished the Pram and started the Lobster Smack. These model shipways kits are very good but are prone to not always being correct. In saying that I would hate to have to print out a set of instructions for these kits. I hope that when I get to the Occre Albatross that things are a little less flimsy!!!!. Oh well! I'm yet to break a piece (touch wood) ha ha.

Getting ready to start my Norwegian Sailing Pram. I'm stuck on the first step. I'm supposed to cut out the knees for both transoms. However sheet E of parts is not labeled and there are so many knees I'm not absolutely sure which is which. I saw in another build thread a picture of sheet E with labels but they were too blurry for me to read them. Can some one post a picture of sheet E with labels on it. Doesn't matter if the parts have already been removed from it as long as the labels are there. Several other of my sheets have no labels but I think I can identify those parts. Looks like someone forgot a step in making my kit sheets.

Thanks in advance,
Roger

Another question. Just completed attaching keg and bilge boards to my pram. Now onto the dagger board case. I happily cut out the 4 parts and lightly sanded the char off. Then I go to read the directions and find out that one side of the two panels are slightly rounded and I need to mark which end faces the bow. I am barely able to tell the curved sides so I am able to pop them back into the sheet but have no idea which one goes into which hole. Therefore I can't identify which end faces bow. Does it matter?
