model shipyard rattlesnake

I think Model Shipyard's models, except for one are paper models, not wood, so why laser cut? If you are referring to wooden planks maybe you are talking about a different company like Model Shipways

Says this in the text for the kit:
- arrangement of planks on decks and boards engrave by laser
Looks to me like they might just be engraved and not cut.

so new it doesnt even seem to exist in searches outside of bing..

may be smaller then other models of the alert class, but its a unique construction setup.

This is available at the Model Expo site also. On the Model Expo site, you can review the instructions. After looking at the instructions, it looks like the hull planking is a combination of laser cut and laser engraved .
Just an FYI, this is not the same ship is the Model Shipways Rattlesnake from Model Expo.
Model Expo has them in stock.

No one at model expo was interested in responding to the "make an offer" I did.. sad. but hey i wasnt expecting more then the automated reply.

i had to send an email but they got back to me. the counter offer wasnt as good as I had hoped, but it wasnt too bad. SO i now have a shipyard model hms rattlesnake lego kit on "backorder status".

Am i correct in that every hull plank is laser cut?
I have this kit in my collection, see my Unboxing Post here

The planking is laser cut to fit, and only drawback I see up front is the deck is also laser etched with plank lines, but not plank ends, just all long single planks which is not realistic.

Looking at the below plank expansion drawing, it appears that there are spiled planks out of the box!! Way to go!!! It will be so nice to only have to file the bevel of the edge where needed and broad bend without having to do any edge bending or tapering. I suspect the day is coming when all kit makers will get the hint and use what has become readily available technology to offer spiled planks.

This should be a fun kit to build when I get to it. Lots of internal structure as part of kit, not just bulkheads and deck floor for openings from top deck like most kits have.

Its going to be fun when it arrives.. its in "processing" now.. and to make it more fun, my shipwright set of kits has been delivered to the shipper today.

We so have to get a group going for it.

I believe SHIPYARD MODEL SHIPS is a Polish manufacturer. That said, if Model-Expo carries it, it must be OK. I have looked it over and seems quite good. Hovever I purchased Model Shipways' kit , i.e. Model-Expo's kit for price reasons. It.s quite confusing due similarity in manufacturers names. But they are different in pricing and scale.
