Model VICTORY by Deagostini, scale 1/84

Hello Sascha,
congratulations on the great work on your Victory and congratulations on your 1st place in the championship. But did you expect anything else? Great masterpiece of craftsmanship.
I have a question about the Victory dinghies?

What wood did you use for them and what is the width of your planks? Are they 0.3 cm wide and approx. 8.5 cm long? I would be very pleased to receive an answer, as I would also like to build a boat for my Athena.

Best regards

Hi Gunther, thanks for appreciating my work.
For the boats: I used pear and black hornbeam. The boards are 2 mm wide and 0.5 mm thick. I didn't cut them to length, all the planking boards are solid for the length of the sides. I thought that cut boards wouldn't look nice.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. Great, I thought you wouldn't cut them yourself. I tried it and it looked terrible. It's almost impossible to get an exact straight edge. How did you manage to get the ridges in the boats? What are the dimensions?

Frames are 1 x 1 mm. They bend perfectly by hand. I cut them on a circular saw.

Gunther, from this place about making boats. If you have any questions, ask.
