Modest Workshop

The problem with those table's are the lower front stretcher that doesn't allow your legs to go under the table, hence you cant sit right up next to the work surface.
That's what I thought when I saw your photos. But it's sold as a workbench, not a desk. Hence a workbench is something you stand at when working, vs. a desk which you sit at while working...still, it's a great efficient set up!!

I'm also sorry for your loss. Hopefully your new home will allow you the happiness of change. It's never easy to change, but by looking at your efforts, you are doing great ! The photos really tell it all! Including the Christmas stockings hanging on the fireplace mantle. I look forward to more of your posts. I'm about to turn 74 and I really enjoy seeing others' work spaces!
My daughter and grandson wanted one last Christmas in this house, so many memories! But I really do not need 7500 sqft for me and my pup. So the plan is to sell this house and build a new 4800 sqft place, where I'll have the first floor and the daughter and grandson will have the second floor with a second living room up there. I will then sell the 4000 sqft house I bought for them to live in. We're going multi-generational, since as I continue to lose my mobility I'll need some extra help in the future.

I have my home up for sale and as such the workshop is packed up and in storage. So I decided on something modest to get me started…the heart is a $169 woodworking table from Harbor Freight with drawer organizers. Hopefully it will be enough space to get started, and allow me to keep things tidy for home showings.

Some buyers may come with kids. Best not to leave out anything you don't want picked up by little hands.

Agree, I will pick and and put away all tools and sharps. But the model under construction is hopefully high enough to deter small hands. I have a sign to put out on the bench to warn not to look but not to touch. In the end its up to the parents to supervise their children from causing damage in someone else's home...I should be in living in my 5th Wheel on the new property before I start a larger and more expensive model. I need to learn the transition skills between scratch built RC planes and model boats, so I am going to build the Model-Expo Shipwright series, then a cutaway of the USS Constitution. I need to have planking down before I tackle a more complex build. Baby steps...

I spend a lot of time with the four youngest grandchildren. My 1 1/2 year old could reach the top of that workbench. I'd never let her do that but some parents don't like to say no
