MUSEU MARITIM DE BARCELONA

J.R.

Wonderful photos - also so well composed - THANKS so much for sharing!

I visited there in the mid 90s - looks as if many more displays have been made available. Great building - Loved the city as well
Thanks for posting the photos. I visited the museum in the mid 70s and loved it. I also visited it again last September and again it met all of my expectations. It is a nice museum and the models are spectacular.
So if also made photos , please Share some with us.

I had the privilege of visiting this museum in July last year.
It's housed in the the fantastic old arsenal building, the Drassanes Reials de Barcelona dating from the 13th century.
Well worth a visit.

Great photos! First time that I have seen a ship with buttocks.

Great pictures!
I especially like the model of the Snipe sailboat. The Snipe was an American design. It was designed during the Depression as an inexpensive racing boat that could be built by home builders. 1000’s were built and when I was a teenager in the late 1950’s it was the world’s most popular one design sailboat. There were fleets of them on lakes where I used to sail. I believe that fiberglass ones are still produced. As far as numbers go, its popularity has been eclipsed by other boats; Sunfish, Lasers, and probably classes that I’ve never heard of.
