My 1/72 scale aircraft

I am now at 83 aircraft models built in 1/72 scale!
16 jets on wall shelves
14 WW1/biplane on top shelves
53 WW2 on the rest of the shelves


The new addition on top shelf with WW1 British and French aircraft.

Hint - it’s a WW2 aircraft this time.

Thanks Bill! It was the better of the two options the kit provided decals for.
Also I have a Sopwith Camel F1 that will be all green. That’s why I did the Comic grey and the 1-1/2 Strutter in this scheme. Always thinking ahead…lol. And why I did my Nieuports different, one in silver and one camouflage, even though they are different versions…27 and 24bis. I don’t want the aircraft to be too much alike from one version to another. ;)

That looks great Dean ! I especially like the way the surface looks like it's covered in fabric !

Here is one of mine. Like many, it was damaged in my move from Colorado. I've fixed it as good as it's going to get. I wanted to do rigging on it, but I thought the thread was too thick. I ended up using hair out of my wife's hairbrush. :)

Thanks Jeff. That looks nice. You can try EZline for the rigging. They make different diameters.

I have 132 kits at this point and I bounce around from one category to another in my collection. So either WW1, WW2 or Jets.
So number 100 will have to be special. ;)
 
Cockpit finished. No decals were provided for the instrument panel and it was molded flat. So I chose to find some spare decals I had and add the gages. I painted controls and gages next to the seat, as that was flat with no detail. So I tried to add a little extra detail.



Now it’s time for putty and sanding prior to painting the outside.

Thanks Jeff. I do a few things to help; thin the paint enough so it flows together without leaving brush marks, blow dry it between coats (low heat, low speed), multiple thin coats. Many thin coats are better than one thick coat that will surely leave brush marks. So patience is the key. ;)
