Hear are some photos of my sovereign of the seas model before I put it in a glass display case.

Details-

This started as the Deagostini 1:84 model kit,I used the inner frames and keel of the kit only, then everything else on the model is scratch built.
I used 3 types of wood on the model beech for the decks, pear for planking, whales etc and castello boxwood for all carving.
All metal parts are made of brass and blackened the rope is from ropes of scale.
This is my first attempt at scratch building and carving by hand so it is not the best in some places, there is a lot details that are wrong on this model so it was big learning curve,so i will call it a practice model before I fully scratch the next model ship.
I’m happy to answer any questions.IMG_7063.jpegIMG_7064.jpegIMG_7065.jpegIMG_7066.jpegIMG_7060.jpegIMG_7053.jpegIMG_7091.jpegIMG_7093.jpegIMG_7102.jpegIMG_7097.jpegIMG_7099.jpegIMG_7055.jpegIMG_7058.jpegIMG_7057.jpegIMG_7070.jpegIMG_7080.jpegIMG_7077.jpegIMG_7078.jpegIMG_7083.jpegIMG_7075.jpegIMG_7067.jpegIMG_7047.jpegIMG_7046.jpegIMG_7103.jpeg

I think Roger hit the nail on the head, spectacular work. Aside from the carving, the mellow wood tones blend together really well.

If you did the carvings on your own, you have huge potential to get some extra money by selling them to 3D printing fellows. They need them to make 3D model STL files.

WOW!!!!! By far the finest model of her I recall ever seeing posted anywhere!
I used the inner frames and keel of the kit only, then everything else on the model is scratch built.
I wonder if any kit of the basic parts like those that you used along with drawings and raw materials would be of interest to others so they can build a model as you did. Congrats on doing a spectacular job.

Yes Y.T.,all carving where done using a combination of MIHAIL KIRSANOV mini chisels and Foredom micromotor,I had to make a smaller chisel at 0.5mm width because MIHAILS smallest was 1mm.
I used 2 books for reference JOHN McKAY and HENDRIK BUSMANN in busmanns book I used the PAYNE and VAN DE VELDE prints carving ,note busmanns book is in German only and it has to be the best book for close up images of PAYNE and VAN DE VELDE.
