That’s always the case for us old farts. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. If we only knew then, what we know now.Looks super!! I wish I was ship modeling back when I worked in the ship yards where we built both barges and push boats as I had access to all the blueprints. One of the yards where I worked was in Paducah, Kentucky which was owned by St. Louis Shipbuilding that built American Beauty. Next life,,,,,,,

If you notice that on the rails, I added plastic round rod on top. I didn’t like the bare top of the rails. I also added a stairway on each side from the 2nd deck to the third deck, on the real boat, but not on the model plans. I also added down spouts, on the real boat pictures, but not on the plans.Wow. Beautiful job. I have this kit and just ordered the deck fittings kit. Can't wait.

By all means. I wanted to point that out to you in case you wanted to incorporate it into your model. My American Beauty, I bought brand new in the 70’s. I started on the boat in the 70’s, life got in the way, but I held onto it. Moved all over the country, east coast, west coast, midwest, the boat went with me. I finished it after I retired. In the original kit, the wood had a lot to be desired. I went to Michaels and bought a few pieces of 1/16th” plywood for the top deck and the roof of the pilot house. It was much nicer. I don’t know if Dumas has improved the quality of the wood, but it was pretty atrocious back then. I could never get it sanded smooth.Note taken. I will add this to my boat if you don't mind .
