Navio Rayo Combat Station (A Spanish 80 gun warship)

A 1/32 scale model kit. The guns were cast in resin. Much of the kit wood supplied I replaced with my own Cherry wood. The figures came from Vanguard Models and painted in acrylics, (the faces in oils).
The rope came from Crafty Sailor.

Great model - and if you wanted to add some further detail, you could think about the boarding pikes that are to be found round the base (deck level) of the mast.

Thanks Spree. Yes it’s definitely a project you can add even more detail to. I would have liked to have had more figures available to man the guns etc.

The Galeon Andalucia, a full-sized replica of a 17th-century Spanish warship, docked at St Katherine's Dock in London from September 23–October 6, 2024. The ship is open to the public for visits from 10 AM–8 PM daily.

It is worth a visit. I saw it in Ostend earlier in the year at the Ostend Maritime festival - which is also a worthwhile visit, although we had quite a feisty sail back to Harwich!!️️️

I have this kit and the resin gun barrels were in poor quality almost like they didn't cure or even wash them as I had resin residue in the plastic case they were packed in.

Yes, I had the same problem. I drilled them and stuck cotton in the barrels. They seem to be holding OK, so I sprayed them black. So far, so good. The kit was missing or short several items, and I did not return it to Model Expro, who I'm sure would've replaced it. I went to a local hobby shop and bought odds and ends.
