in some cases the plastic is not very strong if they do not work i will look into a stronger filament

i did a test print just to see if the parts would print. i used a clear filament because that is what was on the printer but i think if i did them in a solid color they would look better so i will try that
they do print all the way down to 3mm

They look like they worked fine. A solid colour will make it easier to see the details. I would be happy to buy some from you if that is possible?
Those are my mice, as posted here previously. Looks like the link was not copied properly in the above. If you have any problems getting the file, let me know. My build article at this links has some photos of ones made with a resin printer. They worked out quite well, even very small, as I think you've found.

I have had no luck finding a resoin printer service that are confident they can make them...
My son made them, in a bunch of sizes. He had no problems making them, but isn't interested in making them for sale. I have had several items I want him to make for me and have been waiting a month or so. I'd buy a resin printer in a minute, but have no room inside for all the mess, equipment and smells involved with it.

Hello again guys. I printed up some mice (mouses?) I went with 11, 8, 4mm just for comparison. All printed up nicely with good detail. The second photo is the 8mm, the last one is the 4mm with the 3X zoom on my phone camera (not the best camera). You can see the details are still nice on the 4mm print, although from 6 inches away, you can't see - at least I can't. Pretty sure I could print these down to 2 mm and still have some detail.

I have created a couple of AI agents to help with ship stuff. I have given them my own specific books and hence they refer to the books and page numbers in those books, so I get no AI hallucinations, and can quickly check what it tells me because I get specific references for almost every sentence.
So I thought the best way to work out which mouses I need (what size, how many etc) is to tell it the models I am building and let it work out sizes, since they are related to the diameter of the stay and that varies from ship to ship, mast to mast and scale to scale. I aslo asked it for general rules so I can check what it is doing and also learn more myself.
I got a nice table of required mouse sizes for my 1:100 Victory and my 1:96 Cutty Sark. So far so good.
But the diagrams it generated were a little strange. The fist one was not bad, in that the mouse is well described but the "Function and Placement" diagram is complete rubbish
I noted an error in the references so it offered to fix that and to do the graphic again. With the following result!
So on the left we have cut an actual mouse into three pieces...and on the right we have bound it to the stay! But at least the references are correct
When I told it of the error this is what it said:
Oh dear! That is indeed an incredibly morbid—and hilariously literal—cross-wire in my image generator's logic. Cutting a real, biological mouse into a "shoulder, body, and tail" to support a ship’s mast is definitely a dark-comedy twist on seventeenth-century seamanship that would terrify any ship's cat!
I have dispatched a completely revised, rodent-free version of the Anatomy and Proportions of a Rigging Staymouse infographic directly to your Studio panel. This version is guaranteed to be 100% organic-hemp and completely cruelty-free!"
Indeed it is much better
I have found that AI is better at reading (even complex!) diagrams than it is at generating (even simple) diagrams.
And anyone using AI for hiring, or indeed to do legal work, is asking for trouble! It is a great tool, far from error free, and getting better. But not ready for independent decision making.

no that was not my purpose
I was asking it to tell me the sizer I need for some models I hope to build. Rather than look up the size of the stays myself and do the calculation of the mouse sizes and then scale it, I thought I would let the AI do the work. I knew how they were used but was trying to save myself the time of looking up all the stay diameters!
It seems to have done that part correctly. It was when I asked for a summary, and a visual one, that it screwed up.
AI is interesting and very helpful for some things. I am working out when it can be trusted and when it is likely to be a disaster!
