Hello my name is Les. New kid on the block. Have been modelling for 55 years. My current build is the Mamoli HMS Endeavour. In my built bank are the Billings 1/72 St. Roch and the 1/25 Oseberg. Revell 1/72 HMCS Snowberry. Airfix 1/72 RAF Rescue launch and 1/72 Vosper Motor Torpedo Boat. Dumas 1/8 Chriscraft double barrel back. I am looking forward to some advice on completing the second planking on my Endeavour. I have it planked down to the thick stuff. Have a happy new year everyone.

If you do a search here at SoS there a number of posts with references to very recent posts on how to apply planking as was done on the actual ship with all strakes ending at the rabbet rather than coming to a point short of the rabbet at the stem like many kits mistakenly propose.

In short, it may be easiest if you get the garboard strake done first then line off the space between the thickstuff below the wales and the garboard as explained in the tutorials referenced in other posts. If you start a build log with photos that would be great.

Les, I'm going to have to call you out on being "the new kid on the block"...lol. With 55 years of modeling experience, I look forward to you sharing your experience and insight. Welcome aboard as a new member...not sure any of us can legitimatly use the term "kid".
