Having build more flying model airplanes than I want to remember, I’m starting one of these days building ships. So I hope to find a lot of information in the next coming years and whenever it happens posting what I’m building.
Having bought the Occure hms Victory, I’m starting to wonder if that should be my first wooden ship.
So, I bought the Occore Endeavor recently. Maybe that would be more appropriate as a first ship or the Endurance?
Who has a good advice?
I do have enough tools as sawingmachine, drill etc for the model al airplanes.

Welcome to the forums! Look forward to seeing your build. I have done Occre Buccaneer and it helped me to gain some skills and understanding before moving on to something bigger. After I finish the Santisima Trinidad cross-section, I will be doing the Endurance. Hopefully another month. I am looking forward to do it. Though after doing the cross-section I really want to do the whole Santisima Trinidad. So that ship is on my wish list for one day.

FIRST, WELCOME TO SoS.
Some of us have built Victory as a first wooden model and have no regrets. But, if I could start again, I would go with one that is a smaller simpler vessel. Being that you are in Italy, it may not be the best priced choice, but the three boat series designed by master model author and shipwright David Antscherl would be a great choice. https://modelexpo-online.com/Model-...-Series-with-Tools-Glue-and-Paint_p_5290.html
Look through the build logs here to see what may be a better choice than Victory to start. MANY folks started with a complex model and never finished and in some cases dropped the hobby as there was too much for some folks to learn before tackling such a complex ship.

Welcome aboard from Connecticut!

Having started myself a few years ago after doing a lot of plastic modeling, I strongly advise you to start with something simpler. Jeffs advice to peruse the getting started section will definitely help, as will Allans suggestion to start with something like the shipwright series. That is basically how I started out.

I do not know how affordable those kits are in Europe, but if there are similar simple kits in Europe such as a Dory, Lobster boat, Sailing pram etc that would be the ideal way to start. You may be able to find a good deal on Ebay or Amazon prime days.

Do not start with a big kit, often the instructions are minimal and the learning curve steep. It can lead to frustration and giving up. There are many fine building guides here to look at as well as you tube videos on almost any aspect of model ship building that are very helpful!

Thanks for all the advice! I’ve ordered the 3 in 1 kit as suggested. Indeed it would be a waste of time, money, energy and loss of fun if I would do it otherwise.
