Time to get back into ship modeling. Shelved a couple that were under construction and purchased a couple of new models. Also moved my activities into the Admirals old quarters and left all my "Messy" woodworking tools out in my woodworking shop.
I've been intrigued with and following the build logs pertaining to POF so I thought I'd get my feet wet.
I recently purchased two POF kits and now have to decide which one to start with. Both of these have excellent build logs so there should be plenty of help when needed.

These are the two kits I purchased. First decision is which one to begin with. They are both cross section kits and should give me some POF experience without going the full hull route. As I stated, feet wet not drowned. ;)

Due to the fact, that have made both kits already......
My advise is, especially POF are new for you, to start with ther Bonhomme Richard section.
Here the framing is the "normal" double framing which is for the beginning better. The timber and material in the GRanado kit is better, but the frames are more complicated to construct..... just an opinion
Both are very good model kits - well bought

I would most certainly also go for the Bonhomme Richard. I think the Pear wood that Unicorn supplies is excellent, and it builds into a lovely model.

Thanks for the input and advice guys I do appreciate it. Definitely gives me food for thought as I had thought I’d start with the Granado. Guess I’ll rethink my decision. The big draw for the Granado was/is no char and diverging laser cuts to deal with.

Thanks Heinrich. Looking at the BHR model and the quantity of teeny tiny barrels gave me pause :)
