Hi all -
I look forward to getting help and maybe contributing if I can - but at my newbie stage it will probably be a majority of the former.
Cheers!

Hi all - I love scale modeling and have done mostly cars and motorcycles, some planes and military but these incredible tall ship models intrigue me. The fine details and skills required will be an exciting challenge.
For my first build I chose the Artesania Latina Swift and all I can say is thank goodness wood is very forgiving!
I am a USN vet - served about a guided missile destroyer out of Mayport Florida. Participated in a NATO joint exercise in the North Atlantic and earned my "blue nose." We had Russian "trawlers" (spy boats) dogging us and the 30 foot swells and freezing weather were epic! We went all the way to 50 miles off the coast of Russia to "wave the flag" as the CO announced. On the way back we were out at sea for 29 days straight - which may not seem long, but I couldn't wait to set foot on solid ground when we finally docked.
I look forward to getting help and maybe contributing if I can - but at my newbie stage it will probably be a majority of the former.
Cheers!
Welcome aboard from Connecticut.

Rob
