Hello! Dear All, I got hold of a Revell Platinum‑Edition 1/72 Flower‑class corvette at a ridiculously steep price. Fortunately though, the kit turned out to be in absolutely stunning condition. The previous owner bought it roughly ten years ago and left it fully shrink‑wrapped all that time. When it arrived yesterday, it is practically brand‑new — even the instruction manual has barely been opened.
Given how mint this example is, I feel that a simple out‑of‑the‑box build would almost be doing it a disservice.
As I’m aware, the long‑discontinued Great Little Ships super‑conversion set for this Revell kit is completely unobtainable these days. Another reliable source for comprehensive 3D‑printed aftermarket parts, Micro‑Master, has also been on hiatus for over a year due to the owner’s illness.
Are there any other studios out there that make dedicated conversion parts for this kit? I’m open to both photo‑etch and 3D‑printed components. Also, does anyone know where I might track down leftover second‑hand stock of either the GLS or Micro‑Master conversion sets?
Also, I’ll share some work‑in‑progress photos of my S‑38 project.
Thank you very much and wish you all have a nice day!
