Hello all. This will be my first kit to share throughout the build. It is the first in a line of ships I am building for family. My goal is to build something for my sister, 4 kids, and 6 grandkids. I am thinking this will take roughly 6 years. This is my first time to share my work in this kind of environment. Any tips on taking pics and explaining how I do my work will be greatly appreciated.

I am starting with my sister, who wanted something not too big and I wanted something I could build quickly. I chose the Occre Albatros. I will not be painting this, but I will use some stain in places. I purchased the stain from Amazon (Furniture Clinic Wood Stain: Natural Oak, Teak, and Mahogany). I will not include sails. I have always liked the look of a ship with all the rigging and no sails to hide the decking and rigging. I will also be making a plexiglass case so she does not have to worry about dusting and keeping it clean. I am also including a leather bound journal to keep a log (a captain's log if you wish) of the build. I also purchased it on Amazon for approx. $10.

I saw somewhere on the internet to use these clips for squaring the bulkheads and keeping the work off the table.

hello and welcome to SOS forum. My first model kit too albatross from Occre and I should also mention that your assistant is very attentive and caring.:)

Thanks Kaya. This is actually my 10th ship to build. I chose it for my sister since it is easy and small. I wanted to get some progress as quickly as possible as I have 10 more ships to build in the next 5 years.

JoJo is the best assistant. He likes to stand under my work table while I am sitting there working. I think helps in hopes I drop something he can chew on or play with.
