These tugs, Rollcall was one of a class of six built for the RN around the end of WW1, all carried a QF 12 pound 12cwt. gun these where of the quick-firing 3-inch (76.2 mm) caliber artillery piece type that was widely used by the Royal Navy right up to WW2 when they where put on among others, minesweeping trawlers and drifters. The one on the model I built from bits I had lying around the barrel is cast white metal and came from a kit. The model itself uses the grp hull from a calder craft kit the rest I built with the aid of photographs and a small plan in a book called 'British Steam Tugs' by PN Thomas. My model is an 1:87 scale version of the PGE railway tug Point Ellice (a former Canadian Federal Govt Department of Public Works, then Imperial Munitions Board before 1920)
