Painting a waterline on a multi-chine hull

Hi everyone,

Any idea how to mark off and mask a waterline for a multi-chine hull or klinker built for painting? I am building MS's Norwegian Pram and can probably get away with another color on the sheer plank to improve the model, but it leaves me wondering how to mark off and mask over the breaks between strakes to make a true waterline.

A point in the right direction would be really helpful.

Thanks,
Glenn

p.s. a bonus would be to find out to do so with a small sweep.
