I'm on my second wooden model ship build, the Occre Ulises tugboat, and I'll be using z-poxy finishing resin to waterproof the hull. Final paints will be Occre Creative water-based paints.

Any recommendations on primers and undercoats that I should use so that I get the correct adhesions. (I'm UK-based.)

Many thanks

I've used acetone to wipe the hull (to eliminate any wax/oils) then a light sanding is all that's needed to give the new finish something to grip onto. Epoxies have an oil that surfaces after it's cured, it needs to be eliminated before painting with a thinner or reducer. Toluene, acetone and isobutanol are thinners, just remember to cover up when using them.
