AL’s lack of instruction was the reason for this test. The modelers that tackled the Soleil Royal and published their build, opted for painting and were more concerned to get the shape perfect than the individual planks. Mine will be painted as well and at this point I am not building a show and tell model of accurate historical ship building. I think that is a hobby in itself but not for a beginner.
