So I'm at an impact here. Not sure how to proceed. I know I can put strakes in any way I like since they is going to be a second planking, but is like to get it at least close without haphazardly scabbing in to many stakes. Not really sure how to put in a drop plank. Any suggestions or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Are you using a plank bender? Consider tapering for a better fit.

Is this a single-planked or double-planked hull? Assuming the latter: tapering more aggressively would be helpful for this layer, for the second layer I would suggest ending the garboard much further down.

I'm following with interest. I'm finding the first layer of planking on my Beagle more tricky than I expected. Strangely I found it easier doing a single final planking with rabet on the NRG Half Hull planking kit.

Would like some honest opinions/help. How's it looking so far? Hull is about ready for second planking. Couple touch ups I wanna do, but overall pretty good, I think. Just waiting for the keel to dry, and I broke the rear of the bulwarks and glued it back on, so I'm waiting for that to dry also. Have been looking at some YT videos for second planking, but none are very good so far. Guess I'll keep searching. Thanks

Looking pretty good! Something going on on the port side near the bow with the deck planks? Looks like some gaps and ones coming up a bit, but could be the photo.
Ya, one lifted up somehow. It's glued down tight. This is my test ship to learn the process, so I may or may not fix it. Where it looks like gaps are where the market I used to etch the sides of the decking bled and smeared a bit.

What kind of glue did you use? If you used PVA glue, it's not that difficult to remove the plank and glue it back down. By the way, it looks like the same issue is happening at the back near the stern on the port side.
If it is indeed PVA glue, you can easily soften it by applying a little bit of warm water or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) with a brush. Just let it soak for a few minutes, and you should be able to carefully pry the plank loose without damaging the deck. I had the same problem with a bulkhead.

Yes, PVA. I'll try that, thanks.
