Pugwash's peg-leg

Hey pugwash, only you know the BS that you're facing (don't piss-off the doctors), but it might help to put your concerns in a formal letter addressed to the powers-to-be and cite the head of the department as receiving a copy - cc: on the bottom of the letter. Do not put the letter in an envelope.
In the letter simply say that under the current circumstances, you feel your health and welfare are in jeopardy and that you wish to receive a formal hearing concerning the pain management issue.
Be nice and politely ask the doctor to deliver the request.
Sound advice. Thumbsup

What a difference a day makes.
Yesterday was the lowest so far along this journey, but am very happy to report today has been big improvement!

I've just managed a wider gap between Morphine doses (6.5hrs as opposed to 4hrs min intervals). Could have taken it to 7.5 hrs, but want to make room for the night time top up.

I think I must already hold the record for the longest time on this ward and it's clear from many reactions from staff they have some respect for the 'Tiger' within my soul.

I'll leave it there for now, yet it's a real pleasure to have something positive to share.

My best wishes,

It’s good to read this positive post from you. Hoping the best for you and all is now changing in the good direction.

I have another confession...
my originally hasty adaptation if the 'moniker' 'PUGWASH' has belatedly come under scrutiny.
Captain Pugwash was ridiculously improbable animated tv character from my early childhood.
Upon investigation, PUGWASH never had a 'peg leg'.
It would seem he could never be a pirate, simply a nautical buffoon!
Well. by accident, he finally got his 'peg leg'.

The beginning of my demise....

Did an online DFG self assessment 'Adapt my home'.
My house scores 29% NOT ELIGIBLE (poor repair)

Will see what a Social Worker has to say (tomorrow?)

EDIT 23/1/2025
Finally realised my needs are so many all at once, leaving me overwhelmed, scared and afraid.
I got myself a solicitor.
This morning the hospital mafia arrived and heard what I'd done to distance myself from them. You wouldn't believe the looks on their faces.

So, briefly, the day got better, my best pal arrived for a visit, and a woman he was introducing me to, to share her similar loss of a leg in Germany, 3-4 years ago.
That went well, so another positive for another day!

This job not done yet.

Hi guys, a brief update:-

My recent recalcitrance appears to have got things back on track. I hope.

Physio teem arrived and gave me a bunch of excercises to do....everybody happy :)

A 'sock' has been custom ordered for my stump, in prep for trials with a temporary prosthetic, so things are moving again.
Good to read …… it’s changing into the good direction.
Regards, Peter
