The grand finale' ?
Today I attended my last scheduled round of physio and capped it off with a 90ft 'stroll' with a single lightly used crutch but with no other support.
Almost WALKING independently!
That says it all really.... I've come a long way over the last 12 months and I'm thrilled to bits.
I don't think this journey will ever be over entirely.
There's room for more progress and development, which is down to me now.
Not long ago 'Mel' said this wouldn't be possible!
The rest is now up to me to develop the strength and endurance to make that a useful, practical accomplishment.
It's taken over a year to get this far and I'm delighted I've successfully met so many goals incrementally.
Still much personal development to be done, but I haven't given up once.
While there I met a remarkable 80 year old lady who had an above knee amputation only 5 weeks ago, yet was chipper and up for the challenge, already had 2 sessions on a temporary prosthetic!
She humbled me with her confident outlook, full of 'get up and go'.
We shared a warm hug as we parted... which was when I felt she was a lightweight bag of bones.
From what I saw of her, she's off to a good start with the right attitude and I wished her well.
No doubt there will be significant developments for me and I'll sporadically update this 'blog' as and when.
Thank you to all my followers here, you meant the world to me.
