Question RE ship lighting

I am in the process of ordering led ship lights for my model and was wondering if you can connect the lights directly to the 3V power supply or do you need to add resistors to the circuit?

If the LED requires 3vdc then a 3vdc adaptor will work fine (Amazon has several for sale)
