I recently bought 2 kilos (4.5lbs) of very nice sawn castello boxwood offcuts from this UK company - pieces up to 10x2x1 and down to 6x1x1 in size. Good colour, no shakes or splits and dry. about $50 including shipping. They are not particularly geared to serving modelmakers - but the range and variety of their stock is amazing.

Just saw this string of posts which is a great idea. My go-to for years when I need Swiss pear, Castello, Alaskan yellow cedar or holly has been Gilmer Woods. I just checked their website and they do not show Swiss pear in stock but everything else is there as well as a number of other species including ebony. https://www.gilmerwood.com/
