Has anyone ever used metallic reactive paint on their hulls or accessories? Master Model sells a copper paint that they say ages to a patina just like a real copper. I am building the CSS Alabama that had a copper lower hull and thought that this might bring realism to the model but am not sure how the final product may present itself. Any comments?
Thanks.

Never used Model Masters however you may want tho check out Sculpt Nouveau products.

They are listed as metal finishing products but work extremely well on wood. They have metallics and any patina you could want.

Hmmm…I have used metallic acrylics on smaller locations often such as a roof over stern galleries. Works and looks good. I used a copper metallic that dried convincingly copper toned. I suggest sealing and priming the hull with matte polyurethane…then apply the metallic paint. suggest also testing on some scrap wood to be sure you get the look you want.
