reproducing Timberheads with scrapper and proxxon 150 lathe

thanks for comments. my solution is forget the lathe and us a milling machine
The solution I offered above is not suitable for you? You only looking for 4 or maybe 8 timber heads. Are you going to set up a milling machine for this? Good luck.

Why would making a scraper be easier? Besides in this case you will be going cross grain. Not easy with a scraper.

If I am missing something, perhaps you could demonstrate.

Could first someone demonstrate how they do this with scraper? I then will compare with way I do this work and provide some report of my findings. Here the discussion looks like goes out of control. The topic starter seems to does not make difference of the mill to the lathe.

I know this is something of a repeat but based on the contemporary models and Antscherl's research there were no timberheads. There are stanchions to support the beakhead bulkhead and rail but they were covered, I am pretty sure Romero's drawing in post 16 is wrong. This is personal but why anyone would use his work or even mention his wretched name after what he did to those children is beyond me. (Mods, please feel free to delete this post if it is out of line.)

@Y.T.
Stuglo posted that the mention of a lathe was a mistake.

I seem to have misunderstood your post here:https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/...apper-and-proxxon-150-lathe.19948/post-526248

You posted a picture of a scraper, which I thought you were proposing as a method..

In the end, using a mill would seem to produce the best results, in which case, a template would still be necassary.
That is not a scraper but a profile. Secure it together with the timber and file until your file touches the metal. Repeat for times.
