This will be my side project.. or secondary project.. or spare project... Call it as you wish :)
My main effort will remain focused on the Saint Philippe.
I started both projects at the same time in April 2025. I mean started physically in the workshop, because the works on the 3d models were started long time before that. If for Saint Philippe I have the complete 3d definition fully completed (except for some decorations), for Requin these works are done at around 40% and currently on pause until I get some inspiration.
So for this year, that has almost passed (I mean the first year of built - from April to April) my general minimum plan was to complete the entire photo etching, artillery, anchors and boats for both projects. The plan is completed. As you've seen from my Saint Philippe thread, I also managed to build the Saint Philippe's rough hull and I am now ready for the planking.

On Requin I am doing 2 experiments that are meant to define the stlystics my future builds, if I deem those experiments successfull.
First is the color of the rigging: I'm using the same color for running rigging that I use on Saint-Philippe (which is actually new for me as it is not the one I used on Royal William), but I'm using a new color for standing rigging - dark brown instead of black.
Second is I'm using back rigging blocks instead of standard pear.

That's it for now... I will concentrate on Saint Philippe. This project will stay on the side until one morning I get up and decide that now I want to switch. Will see. In any case to continue, I need to finish my 3d model first.
And by the way, for rough hull, I am thinking now to do a third experiment and build it completely out of the plywood insted of plywood/solid pine combination like I had it on Royal William and having now on Saint Phillipe (pywood frames and solid pine blocks between them). The humidity drop in winter is killing me - with such size and weight of the hull, the pine shrinks something like 1-2mm on a 35mm thickness, while plywood remains pretty steady, so the hull (which has no planking yet) basically cracks apart... When the planking is finished, it stabilises the hull but doesn't completely eliminates the problem as I was convinced on Royal William

Amazing work! I looked at your Instagram. Wow. This is impressive. Unsurpassed craftsmanship. I only would like to know what do you do with all these huge size models after you finish them?
