Hi,

Just posting here a build log of the Revell Trawler , I am converting some kits of them to represent other Hull Trawlers.

The first three will be the vessels lost in the Triple Trawler Tragedy, Ross Cleveland, Kingston Peridot and St. Romanus.

First is the Ross Cleveland, photos to follow.

I have the plans enlarged to the hull length, from the Book "British Steam Trawlers " by Donald Smith

Hull glued and primed, port side masked and painted, unfortunately the primer lifted, first time I've used this type of red oxide primer, and also Humbrol Acrylics, I found they need 2 coats for decent coverage.

Will mask and respray the antifouling again tomorrow

I put bilge keels on with evergreen styrene strip.

Housing built onto the after deck, but compared with the plans as you can see, the housing is too short!! But will have to go with this, due to the kit deck,

The housing on the original was metal and painted to look wood grained, I've tried to replicate it with an undercoat of desert sand and service brown over the top.
