Rigging tool for Ratlines and Dead Runs

Last year I hit the wall whilst undertaking the daunting task of rigging the Endeavour from OcCre. Their rigging plans are abysmal and so I ventured further and took in a lot of information I found here on this site and in specific publications on the topic.
I admit to have been tempted to take schortcuts and use rigging jigs, as shown in this thread. However, as an engineer, I didn't trust those jigs and left well alone. Money in my pocket is better than my money in other people's pocket. Well, in this case anyhow.

Although the ship is currently in dry dock for other reasons, I now enjoy doing the rigging, and yes, it is a challenge and can be tiresome, but its done with my hands and not using jigs. Each to their own, though.

I think most if us got suckered into buying a ratlines tool when starting out. Rigging is very intimidating. I ifound the easiest way, as an engineer, was to understand what each line did and then try and think about how it woukd have been done in real life. Nobody every rigged a ship ratline using a full sized loom, im guessing!
I found myself getting worked up about the level of difficulty and then convinces myself that I needed one of several products. I did a great job of doing what they said to do and created a lovely ratline model......that was utterly useless!
Do the suezing etc off the ship, the rest follow an in to out, top to bottom plAha
