I've seen two different kinds of rope hanks. One has a loop pulled through the middle of the hank and hooked over the belaying pin. The other has the bitter end wrapped around the outside of the hank and the whole hank is dropped over the belaying pin. Is one more correct? Maybe different countries or time periods? I couldn't find pictures to post, hope my description works.
