Thank you Grant, I met my lovely wife in 1967 between voyages when I worked on the Union Castle Lines RMS Windsor Castle when we used to sail from Southampton to Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and Durban and then retrace the port's back to Southampton, had some great times in South Africa,

What a great set of ports. Made the same run on the SS African Comet in 1967 from New York and back. Also had stops in Beira and Lourenço Marques (now Maputo) Mozambique. Everytime I think about the trip I think about piri piri prawns from small ones to large ones the size of small lobsters. There were so many of these shrimp we wound up losing vacuum on our steam system with the condenser tubes were half clogged with shrimp. My roomie and I were cadets and had the job of clearing the tubes of the shrimp. The chef had a field day and we ate well as a result!

while waiting for paint, glue etc to dry I started drilling out the window openings for the stern galleries, I drilled them out on my Mill / drill and finished them off with files, one finished and one to go.
