Greetings to all. It has been quite a while since I have posted anything or contributed anything on this site. My last buit was the Italeri Lutzow 1/720. And then I wandered of building planes and figures, but since I am approaching my sixtieth, I want to refire my drive to do more ship models. Being from South Africa,
I have a keen, but fledgling interest in the SA Navy. For many years Simonstown was only a 50 minute drive from where I stayed as a boy and young man. Now - the old SA Navy (pre-1994) had the President Class Frigates (Type 12 Frigate if I am not mistaken). they were the SAS Pretorius, SAS Kruger and the SAS Steyn. I wuld dearly love to build one or perhaps all three of the ladies. I do not see myself a schratchbuilder, thus, is there any main line manufacturer, susch as Airfix that may produce a kit that can be used to present a Type 12/President Class Frigate? I do not mind doing a bit of conversion/schratchbuilding ...
