I have used diluted starch and it is effective.

I am also using a fabric stiftener (zetaspray - stira meglio ).,a similar product what dockattner uses.After spraying using a hot air blower you can give nearly any stabil form to the sails.This type of spray also doesn't change the color of the sail material.You can also iron the already sprayed sails on a rounded surface to give a rounded shape
