San Francisco II, Artesania Latina [Completed Build]

Kristy. From looks of you work area you might want to get a self healing cutting mat!

Saves work space top and helps keep blades sharper when not hitting hard wood tops

HAHA. I know. I've been wanting to do that for some time. As you can see, I'm slow to getting around to that.

The way Artesania Latina wanted me to build the ladder looked very "treehouse" to me. I ordered some ladders from an online source and they look much better, in my opinion. Picture on the left is from the instruction CD, the right is my solution. I like this MUCH better.

Hi Kristy, I just stumbled across your build. You've got skills even if you don't like what AL supplied. I'm building a DeAgostini kit but it was produced by AL so I recognize many of the components and share many of your concerns. I'm a novice so I didn't know any better at the beginning but now that I am seeing other kits I'm confident that my next build will come from another supplier. In my case I'm swapping out what I can. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I hope you're documenting your build. I'd love to see your progress.

Got the first sail raised, but then realized I was shorted (once again) on parts, this time some double sheave blocks, so off to order more parts so I can get to the next set of sails.0087.jpg0083.jpg0084.jpg

My daughter came over the other day to take some glamour shots with her iPhone, which takes immensely better picture than my android.
