HAHA. I know. I've been wanting to do that for some time. As you can see, I'm slow to getting around to that.

I managed to get the lifeboat built. Not fun with the crappy wood supplied, but I got through it with by soaking the wood well.

The way Artesania Latina wanted me to build the ladder looked very "treehouse" to me. I ordered some ladders from an online source and they look much better, in my opinion. Picture on the left is from the instruction CD, the right is my solution. I like this MUCH better.

Then added the cannonball boxes that I had to buy some basswood to make them with because I was shorted the strips that they said I was to use.

Hi Kristy, I just stumbled across your build. You've got skills even if you don't like what AL supplied. I'm building a DeAgostini kit but it was produced by AL so I recognize many of the components and share many of your concerns. I'm a novice so I didn't know any better at the beginning but now that I am seeing other kits I'm confident that my next build will come from another supplier. In my case I'm swapping out what I can. Keep up the good work!

Got the first sail raised, but then realized I was shorted (once again) on parts, this time some double sheave blocks, so off to order more parts so I can get to the next set of sails.
