Forgot to mention the cleats and chocks on the bowsprit. Be Careful, the last chock on each side, furthest from the tip are reversed. And also note... I didn't fill in the walls of the forecastle per the kit drawings. If you do this, again be careful. If you put the cleats on, you won't be able to get the bowsprit through the hole in the forecastle wall.

After I can't even find things it front of my face (rigging plans!!) I'm almose afraid to say there is a problem with fitting the bowsprit...

This is the hole in the forecastle deck for the bowsprit... Also notice the 6x6mm timber that's in the way...

I sized the bowsprit per the illustration on the plans. The bowsprit is larger than the hole in the deck it's supposed to fit into.

I ground out the hole larger. And had to remove part of one of the 6x6mm timbers under the deck.I

I also had to taper the end of the bowsprit to fit it correctly.

then to cover up all my cutting, I put a flat black painted cover up base around the area I sanded/cut out.

Good morning. I know the experts in this field will cringe in dismay ROTF with the tapering of the bow sprit, however I do the same- if I don’t see it why spend hours doing it;). Your end result is fabulous. Cheers Grant
