Thought I would start a build log about this build. Unfortunately it won't be from scratch as I started this build a few years ago. Unfortunately I can't find the hull part either. It's a little (very) messy here because we're renovating a room.
However, I thought that I would not give up but start at another end of the construction, the mast.
I will turn the three mast parts and booms in my little Proxxon lathe.
But now I've started checking the blocks. What do you say about them here?
Should they be rounded off at the edges and should they be stained?

As Smthy mentions, there are some very informative posts here at SoS on nice blocks.
To answer your question, if it was me I would throw the blocks in the photos in the garbage and get some nice aftermarket blocks. If you are relegated to using the ones from the kit put then in a sanding tumbler, which is easy to make, for a minute to round them off. See post #4 in the below link.

I look forward to your build! As for the blocks, I always just use the blocks as you show them on the image. Perhaps on my next project, I'll look into other options for blocks, and the pros and cons. There are so many amazingly inspirational builders on this forum!

Hi Smithy, can I pick your brain about a detail? I'm working on the rigging of my Santisima section, double checking where all the lines end up. I'm using the pdf plans from the OcCre site. Do you happen to know what the purpose of line nr 194 is (page 44/48)? It's supposed to hoist something up I guess, but what?
