I am working my way thru rigging of the cross section and main mast.
Drawings are good parts seem good but very little guidance on rigging or what steps other than follow plans and it lists reference to a sequence to follow

I also watch Olga Bacherov's videos for hints and clues on building techniques.

The material is correct and the scale sufficient for the size of the vessel
As for the explanations, it's pretty clear with 1/1 scale plans

THANX. I try to seek out as much information as I can. I failed at the DeAgostini HMS Victory so I am wary.

The HMS Victory at any scale and by any brand is a challenge for modelers without much practice or skills, I have one waiting for time in the dock, but that won't be any time soon, to many half finished projects to complete first.
AGREE! I am still learning how to plank hulls properly. Working with Britannia ia another challenge.

The white metal stuff is a challenge, I know some who now make 3D printed replacements for castings.
When done with cleanup on castings, make sure you give them a good cleaning bath and wear gloves when handling before painting.

I have somie Britannia parts from kits I have not finished. I plan to work on them with hand tools before I even try power of any source. I have some examination quality gloves to wear, Next big purchase is a spray paint rig.

Check Hobby Lobby or Micro-mark for good low cost beginners air brush sets.
Take my advise and don't buy air cans for an air brush, if you have a compressor, get a regulator for low pressure or buy a small air brush compressor.
there are half a dozen brands and types, and I have tried and owned may of them. Best option is what they call a "dual action" where you control the air and paint by one trigger, so you can adjust on the go. Cheaper versions have air flow control only by trigger and you have manually rotate the flow control.
Check you tube for videos on how and remember to always clean ASAP when done before paint dries inside (ask me how I know)

I'll invest in an independent compressor and midrange paint setup. I've bought from Micro Mark so I get their catalogue. Not as good as the old time Sears Christmas catalogue.
