Are you interested in in 3D printed historically accurate guns for your ship?Hello everyone, I would like to know what size cannons to use for the ship *Le Protecteur* at 1:75 scale. On Dry dock models and parts, the sizes range from 30mm to 50mm.

According to detailed naval records Three Decks:
check Dry Dock Models
- Lower gun deck: 28 × 36‑pounder guns
- Upper gun deck: 30 × 18‑pounder guns
- Quarterdeck/forecastle: 16 × 8‑pounder guns

Zoly is making some great cannon. For the lengths, what are you going for? I am guessing the 36 pounders would have been anywhere from 8 feet or 9.5 feet and the 18 pounders 7.5 feet or 9 feet long. Have you contacted the Musee National de Marine in Paris? They should be able to give you good information if it is available at all.
They look very different than English cannon having no chase astragal or first reinforce ring. Below are contemporary 2D drawings of these but unfortunately no 3D drawings from which they could be printed. These are some years after your ship, but hopefully will be close. Again, the museum should be able to give you accurate information.

Thanks for the plans. I don't have a specific idea yet. I have the monograph from the Musée de la Marine. Apparently, it carried 8-, 12-, and 24-pounder guns, as i found on the plans. I’ll need to study the plans and the monograph carefully to confirm the sizes, and then convert everything to get as close as possible to 1:75 scale.
