Retired and getting back into the hobby. Learning a lot from this site. Building an older model of the Scottish Maid i got off marketplace. Might be missing some of the instructions. Fixin to get started on planking and deck. Noticed while studying ahead in the instructions it says to bend copper wire 47 to shape as shown for transom decoration and fix with ca glue. Cannot find anything anywhere in plans or instructions that show this. Been through all the pics here and elsewhere and cannot find anything that resembles this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello and welcome. I can't find anything either, so just let your imagination run wild - we won't tell anyone! Hope you start a build log. Regards.

Hello and a welcome from the northern Marches

Scottish Maid is an interesting vessel, the first to use the ‘clipper bow’
I made that kit whilst working on a contract in Gothenburg. My first experience of a ‘modern’ kit with ply formers. My instructions are in French, as I bought the kit whilst in France, so mainly I had to use the drawings and a dollop of background knowledge. I don’t have photos, but I think the drawings are still somewhere here.

Thanks. This should be fun.

I have the unassembled A.L. Scottish Maid sitting in a box in my closet. A project yet to be undertaken. If you end up wondering if you're missing any components from the kit, let me know and I can double check for you with what is in my kit package.

Thank you. I really appreciate it. Old kit and the frames were already cut out. Have to do some modifications. Think I have most everything so far. Just glued the blocks to the stem and stern. After shaping I think I'm ready for first planking. First attempt at a kit this complex after 50 years. One thing I can't find is on page 2 of instructions I can't find anywhere in the prints about the detail for the transom. So far none can find that detail. Looked at numerous pics. No pictures came with the kit. Just the 2 page instruction sheet with parts list and 3 large detail sheets. Thanks again

So, the booklet of instructions that came with mine...after skimming past the first part in Spanish, consists of a whopping 2.3 pages of English. That part sounds consistent with what I have. Also the three large sheets of plans sounds right. So my written instructions list steps 1 through 24, which relate to the pictures in the folded up colour photo sheet... and that's the part that seems to be missing from your box. The coloured photos page. I'm attaching the .pdf for sheet to this post.

Let me know if that gives you what you're looking for.

This is what is missing. That is going to help tremendously. Thank you. Will post some pics of the progress soon

Hi, Here are pictures of my Scottish Maid I scaled up the plans to 1/43 scale to suit my model railway then cut all new parts to the larger scale. I altered a few details and changed the name to The Stephen Hey after my father. Here are pictures of the larger ship with details of copper wire ornamentation.
